We are already experiencing the impacts of global warming: melting glaciers, rising sea levels and increasingly frequent and extreme weather like droughts, heavy rain and storms. The climate crisis is also increasing the pressure on essential resources like drinking water and farmland. Proactive climate policy offers a wide range of opportunities to liberate economic systems from their dependence on fossil fuels and create jobs.

adelphi is engaged in the following:

• We are committed to creating innovative strategies to prevent and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
• We study the consequences of the climate crisis and develop measures to reduce the adverse effects.
• We advocate the creation of a global carbon market and accompanying sectoral measures.
• We help cities, municipalities and other sub-state actors develop their incredible potential for climate protection.
• We understand the increasing significance of cities and help municipalities become climate-friendly places with “smart” solutions for urban infrastructure.
• We develop foreign policy initiatives and strategies to deal with climate-induced conflict and migration.
• We offer analysis, capacity building and training on climate finance to developing and emerging countries, national and international decision-makers and the private sector. In this way, we make  transformative projects happen and ensure low-carbon, climate-resilient development.
