Iryna Holovko is an Advisor at adelphi working in the area of carbon pricing and markets. She is focusing on distributional aspects of carbon pricing in Eastern Europe, and on supporting governments worldwide in designing and implementing robust emission trading systems. She believes that carbon pricing is an essential tool in the climate policy portfolio necessary to keep global warming below 1,5 degrees, but that it will only be effective when the carbon pricing systems designed are comprehensive and fair.
“Climate change is indeed one of the biggest challenges humanity is facing today, with many other crucial areas such as energy and food security or preservation of vital ecosystems being directly dependent to how successful we are in tackling it. At adelphi I can make my contribution towards such a success that humanity and our planet so desperately needs.”
