The EU strives to enable a climate-neutral, resource-efficient circular economy and to promote sustainable production and consumption patterns. Through its landmark strategies, the EU Green Deal and Global Gateway, the EU is also committed to supporting other countries in this transformation.
The SWITCH-Asia Policy Support Component (PSC) is an important contribution to this as it supports the progress of SDG 12 and other SDGs towards Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) in Asia.
adelphi contributes to the PSC and thus to the integration of SCP policies in Asia through consultancy services. In doing so, the PSC works closely with and advises national governments and regional organisations and networks in the target region. The PSC implements regional and cross-country approaches to scaling SCP policies, provides technical advice and knowledge sharing, and supports capacity building of regional institutions.
The SWITCH-Asia PSC builds on the SWITCH-Asia programme's long and successful experience with policy advice. The PSC is also linked to the Grants Component of SWITCH-Asia and ties in with programmes and priorities of the EU Delegations.
In particular, adelphi contributes expertise on SDG 12 monitoring and policy development, SCP Finance, and international environmental agreements (especially the Global Plastics Agreement currently under negotiation). In addition, adelphi contributes its long-standing experience as part of the SWITCH-Asia Stakeholder Network, including as a consortium member of the SWITCH-Asia SCP Facility.
