adelphi supported the Renewable Energy Statistics Working Group (AGEE-Stat) of the German Environment Agency (UBA) in optimising and further developing its public relations work as part of this project. The aim was to present complex data and information on renewable energy in a way that is both accessible to a broad audience and visually engaging. The corporate design of the UBA was consistently adhered to, ensuring a unified and recognisable visual language.
The project included several work packages, ranging from the development of new infographics and the creation of an updatable slide deck to the design of additional public-facing materials such as posters, handouts, and roll-up banners. A key focus was striking a balance between simplified presentations for lay audiences and maintaining sufficient detail for expert stakeholders. A half-day workshop was held to collaboratively define goals, parameters, and design concepts with AGEE-Stat.
The materials developed were designed for long-term use and to be independently updated by AGEE-Stat. This was achieved by relying on commonly used software such as PowerPoint and Excel. Additionally, a final report was prepared, containing design guidelines, usage instructions, and recommendations for further enhancing visual communication. These measures enable AGEE-Stat to carry out its public relations work more effectively and efficiently, thereby strengthening public understanding of and trust in the data underpinning the energy transition.
