Promoting sustainable consumption and production - Policy support Malaysia

adelphi supported a 3-year project in Malaysia, consulting its government on key issues of sustainable consumption and production (SCP).

This project was part of the European Commission's SWITCH Programme, a regional environmental programme that seeks to promote SCP in Asia, targeting especially its SME sector. It seeked to assist the government in developing a national action plan on SCP and respective policies; this included the development of guidelines on green products, a green labelling scheme, as well as a green public procurement policy. In addition to its consulting services, the project also seeked to implement pilot projects which demonstrate the positive impact of SCP.

adelphi co-developed the project strategy and was member of the implementing consortium. In addition, adelphi also provided one of the three key experts of the project in the field of green public procurement.
