Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH
Pakistan ranks among the countries most severely affected by climate change globally and faces enormous challenges in the areas of energy, climate protection, and adaptation. GIZ's Energy and Climate Cluster brings together a wide range of projects in greenhouse gas mitigation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate risk management. These projects are closely interconnected and make a crucial contribution to the country's sustainable development.
adelphi supports the cluster through technical and methodological assistance in preparing annual and final reports for a total of seven projects and programmes, including the decarbonisation and digitalisation of power distribution networks, the promotion of renewable energy in cities and industry, innovative climate risk financing, and strengthening long-term strategies for low-emission development. The reports are prepared in accordance with the strict requirements of BMZ and GIZ, creating transparency about project progress, impacts, and lessons learned.
The consultancy service centres on close collaboration with project managers in Pakistan and the systematic analysis of project documents, monitoring data, and technical inputs. Through an established, dialogue-oriented process, drafts are prepared, coordinated, reviewed, and finalised. This ensures that the reports not only meet formal requirements but also highlight synergies between projects and provide valuable insights for knowledge management and the further development of the cluster.
Through this approach, adelphi contributes to strengthening the effectiveness and visibility of German development cooperation in the climate and energy sector in Pakistan, creating the foundation for evidence-based decision-making in a highly dynamic environment characterised by uncertainty.
