Emission Trading Schemes (ETS) are becoming an ever more important tool in international climate mitigation efforts. If these instruments are to work together effectively, there must be a change in policy direction which should occur in tandem with coordinated economic decision-making. Against this backdrop, the Carbon Expo – the world's largest multi-sectoral climate finance and carbon market conference and fair – offers a centralised forum for the key players in project development and certificate purchasing, as well as for project operators and investors. In addition to stakeholders from the marketplace, decision makers from the political arena, international organisations and high-ranking representatives of market participants will also be engaging with the Carbon Expo's conference programme.
Continuing along the path of other successful initiatives in recent years, the participation of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) involved constructing the German Pavilion at 2015 Carbon Expo in Barcelona. From the 26th to the 28th of May, the German companies and organizations which set up shop in the German Pavilion exhibited their own work and represented the broad spectrum of services that Germany has on offer in the carbon trading market.
adelphi was commissioned by the BMUB to develop and execute the concept for the German Pavilion from start to finish. This included planning and designing the exhibition stand and taking care of all technical and logistical matters during the conference. In addition, adelphi provided all the necessary services for the exhibitors, including organising side events and smaller dialogue events that took place as part of the German Pavilion. Finally, adelphi also offered support to the German Pavilion's public and press relations efforts.
