Development of a practice-orientated NAMA technical assistance sourcebook

As a result of ongoing climate change and the urgent need for mitigation efforts at the national level, larger development organisations are faced with increasing challenges in developing and implementing nationally appropriate mitigation actions (NAMA), related projects and programmes.

adelphi and partner organisation perspectives GmbH provided support to GIZ in the development of a sourcebook based largely on NAMA development experiences gained in Asia.

As a result, a technical assistance handbook for planners and implementers of NAMA technical assistance projects and programmes was developed as a reference, providing orientation and hands-on advice and binding best practice guidance for NAMAs. The sourcebook reflected experiences gained and lessons learned from previous GIZ projects and experiences in multilateral development work. It will be designed considering the rationale of Capacity Works, a management tool for sustainable development.
