The global demand for innovative environmental technologies and services is increasing, especially in view of climate change challenges and scarce resources combined with growing world population.
The export promotion will play a central role in the international competition for new “green future markets”. To meet these requirements and address upcoming challenges effectively, the promotion of export has to adapt to the changing conditions.
On behalf of the Federal Environment Agency, adelphi analysed and evaluated existing national and international models and measures of export promotion. The study “Starting Points for Advancing Innovative Environmental and Efficiency-boosting Technologies – Export Promotion” analyses problem areas of export promotion and drafts new approaches to optimise the German foreign trade in the field of environmental and efficiency-boosting technologies.
At the beginning of November the results were presented to around 30 experts from different ministries and involved state facilities. Together they developed concrete recommendations to elaborate on the growth potential for the export of German environmental technologies.
