As part of the "Bridging Local and European Climate Action" (BEACON) project, adelphi is looking for municipalities that would like to scale-up their climate action ambitions and share their experiences with European partners.
How can climate action measures contribute to tackling demographic change and energy poverty? What does climate action have to do with a future-oriented investment policy? Questions like these are at the heart of the BEACON project. The project is part of the European Climate Protection Initiative (EUKI) from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and aims to increase the acceptability and impact of climate action projects in Central, Eastern and Southern Europe, in addition to initiating further measures. We are now looking for municipalities that want to make ambitious progress in climate action, while also sharing their experience with European partners in a joint learning process.
How do municipalities benefit from participating in the project?
The three-year project gives municipalities from Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Portugal and Greece the opportunity to exchange ideas and increase the impact of their local climate mitigation measures. The formats for this exchange are mapped in different activities on several levels:
You can find more information on the application criteria here.
Municipalities can submit their online applications directly via the EUKI website. The application deadline is 13.07.2018
Please note that the scope of participation of German municipalities differs slightly from that of municipalities from the other European countries. Please check the German version of this news for more information.
