On behalf of InWEnt, adelphi is planning a regional study tour to India – for professionals and experts from the Nepalese energy sector – from 28 October to 4 November 2010.
The study tour is tailored to the specific needs and interests of the participants, combining expert talks from the public and private sectors with visits to energy efficient sites. The study tour provides diverse information on energy efficiency (EE) projects and inspires new ideas and approaches for developing programmes and solutions to better capture the energy saving potential in existing industries, buildings and appliances. Organisations visited include the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), the National Productivity Council (NPC) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) among others.
The programme is attended by around 20 participants nominated by the Nepalese Water and Energy Commission Secretariat (WECS) and includes representatives from WECS, other Nepalese government institutions as well as from the private sector, namely from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and associated partner institutions. In addition, a delegation from Bangladesh includes representatives of the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) and experts nominated by SEDA.
