The CHANGING Markets Award rewards innovative enterprises operating in developing and emerging countries which actively contribute to a greener, more inclusive world.
Implemented on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and organized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) the award looks for Champions for Green and Inclusive Markets. It seeks to recognise enterprises which are successfully building their business case around environmental considerations, create positive impact for low-income communities (the “Base of the Pyramid”), and actively promote the shift towards a “green and inclusive economy” even beyond their immediate business operation.
The award takes place within the framework of the 16th International Business Forum (IBF) on 23 and 24 October in Istanbul, Turkey. During a two-day workshop ten selected finalists will be able to prepare a presentation of their business models during the forum. After the forum they will receive support in further developing their enterprises. Still during the forum an international jury will select up to three winners who will be awarded 5.000 Euro. adelphi supports GIZ in conceptualising and implementing the CHANGING Markets Award and the workshops for finalists.
