Join us for the 4th Annual California Germany Bilateral Energy Conference (CGBEC), presented by the California Energy Commission and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and held virtually on October 26, 2020, from 4:00–6:00 PM (CET).
Famous for being a hotspot of innovation and bold ideas, California is an inspiration to many. Now, the “Golden State” has announced a new step toward a more sustainable future: from 2035 onward, all passenger vehicles sold in the state will be required to be zero-emission. A big step for a state where so many people rely on their cars every day – and a decision that is sure to provide for an intereseting conversation with its longstanding partner Germany. On its side, Germany expects a massive acceleration of e-mobility deployment, pushed by business and policy initiatives such as the introduction of carbon pricing for the transportation sector starting on January 1, 2021, and growing investments in charging infrastructure.
This year’s conference will highlight the ongoing partnership between California and Germany as we work together to accelerate the global energy transition. The two-hour web event will bring together high-level government officials, policy makers, industry leaders and experts to discuss the key challenges and opportunities in the electrification of transport.
The widespread adoption of electric vehicles is key to improve air quality in our communities and decarbonise the transport sector. At the same time, this transition builds on enabling policies for progressive industry players and consumers, strong market demand, effective grid integration and widely accessible charging infrastructure. Join us as our high-level speakers identify solutions to these challenges and chart a path forward to a sustainable future of mobility.
The conference will be moderated by Britta Gross, Managing Director of the Rocky Mountain Institute’s Mobility Practice, and will involve several keynotes, an interactive Q&A and a panel discussion.
We are proud to announce that our confirmed speakers include:
