At the key conference on water issues, adelphi co-convenes a high-level panel to discuss the role foreign policy-makers could play in strengthening transboundary water cooperation. Moreover, adelphi contributes its expertise in the field of water security in the MENA region.
In 2014, adelphi contributes to two different workshops at the World Water Week. The conference is hosted and organised by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and takes place in Stockholm from 31 August to 5 September 2014. This year’s World Water Week has a theme of "Energy and Water" which is also a main topic of many adelphi projects.

MENA Nexus Seminar: Regional Cooperation for Sharing Solutions

This seminar convened by the Global Water Operators' Partnerships Alliance at UN-Habitat, the Stockholm Environment Institute and the Stockholm International Water Institute focuses on practical implementation of the water-food-energy nexus approach. Following case studies presentations a panel discussion will focus on the role of regional cooperation in supporting a nexus approach in the MENA region. As co-convenor, adelphi contributes to the workshops design and the composition of the panel.
Water Diplomacy: Harnessing Foreign Policy for Conflict Prevention and Regional Integration

Together with SIWI, adelphi is the convenor of this workshop which analyses the role that foreign policy-makers could play in strengthening transboundary water cooperation for reaping regional cooperation dividends. The audience is invited to discuss with the panelists how closer collaboration between the various policy communities could contribute to increasing the basket of benefits of transboundary water governance and to attenuating conflict.
