Elsa Semmling is a Co-Lead Water at adelphi. Her focus is water: working at the interface between research, politics and practice, she ensures that knowledge on global developments in the water sector reaches the target groups. This includes organisations that promote the sustainable use of water resources and develop suitable solutions at the local level. Elsa relies on networking and dialogue because she is convinced that cooperation between the government, industry and interest groups is key to avoiding water conflicts.
“In our globally networked world, we all have a responsibility to see and treat water as a valuable global resource. At adelphi, I can work to ensure that there is a greater focus on the sustainable use of water at various levels – in this way, water is taken into account as an integral part of all decisions about natural resources.”
