Alina Viehoff works as a Consultant in the Climate Diplomacy and Security programme at adelphi. The immense impacts of anthropogenic climate change are becoming ever more present and can no longer be ignored. She therefore supports effective multilateral action and cooperation in her work to find solutions to the transboundary consequences of climate change. In doing so, she emphasises the need to promote local approaches and actors.
“While climate change is having devastating impacts on humanity and the planet, I think it’s essential to develop a more positive perspective on these challenges. Cannot addressing socio-ecological problems lead to more dialogue, cooperation, or even peace instead of conflict? And how can these tendencies be strengthened and used in other domains?”
