The Strategic Advisory Board of Weathering Risk, the climate and security risk and foresight assessment initiative, met for its inaugural session on January 19th, 2021.
Weathering Risk, a flagship multi-disciplinary, multilateral initiative, seeks to tackle the risks that climate change poses to human and international security. Hosted by adelphi and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, the meeting brought leading figures in development, environmental, foreign and security policy from around the world together to discuss the key objectives and strategic priorities of the initiative. Their insights outlined forthcoming challenges, strategic goals and the importance of collaborative, integrated and comprehensive approaches to tackling climate security risks.
