Population growth, climate change, and drinking water shortages make the sustainable management of water as a resource to one of the biggest global challenges of the 21st century. To contribute to a solution for the nascent conflicts around the "blue gold", the Federal Ministry of Education and Research launched the government-funded measure "Global Resource Water (GRoW)". This volume, the proceedings of the launch conference, introduces the twelve projects supported through GRoW: More than 90 institutions from research, industry and practice develop innovative solutions for global water problems across twelve research projects and demonstrate their findings in local case studies.
adelphi is responsible for the networking and transfer activities within GRoW. This entails the organisation of three conferences, at which the project results and crosscutting topics are discussed. This publication presents the proceedings of the mid-term conference, highlighting current findings and products of the twelve joint projects.
