Enabling SME access to finance for sustainable consumption and production in Asia

In China, the need to improve access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to increase sustainable consumption and production (SCP) practices as well as green growth has been recognised by the government and, to some extent, by financial institutions. This study sheds light on opportunities for SMEs to obtain funding for green investments to improve their environmental performance. The study also identifies barriers that hamper access to (green) finance for SMEs.
