Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV)
In 2008 the transatlantic climate bridge was launched in Berlin. Politicians, businesspeople, and researchers from both sides of the Atlantic have been invited by the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMU) to further intensify and develop transatlantic climate and energy policy cooperation. The transatlantic climate bridge aims at bringing together leading experts on energy and climate issues from both sides of the Atlantic to discuss approaches in renewable energy promotion and emissions trading just to name a few.
On behalf of the BMU, adelphi sought to strengthen the sustainable energy prospects of this initiative. Roundtable events in the United States and Berlin are only one instrument to systematically strengthen transatlantic learning processes on how to promote transformation processes for a low carbon economy.
