Responsible Business Hub Pakistan

The GIZ global project Initiative for Global Solidarity (IGS) seeks to promote the adoption of Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) through the establishment of Responsible Business Helpdesks (RBH) in various countries. Recognising the importance of responsible business practices, public and private sector stakeholders in Pakistan have jointly agreed to integrate RBH initiatives. This has led to the development of a comprehensive joint action plan with a focus on raising awareness of the RBH and HREDD. 

Part of this action plan is to train trainers targeting a diverse group of stakeholders, including the National Compliance Centre (NCC), business associations, local service providers and academia, and raise awareness among industry stakeholders of the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and its implications for the supply chain. These trained individuals play a crucial role in disseminating information and organising workshops on HREDD using their respective organisational platforms. This approach ensures a cascading effect, reaching a wider audience and promoting a culture of responsible business practices. The objective of the project was to: 

• increase awareness of public and private sector stakeholders regarding HREDD topics 
• develop trainers specialised in HREDD as multipliers for the promotion of responsible business practices. 
• foster collaboration and create an influencer network for advancing responsible practices

adelphi was assigned to conduct two activities: 

• Design and deliver a 3-day ToT program on EU CSDDD for 20 participants from 
  National Compliance Centre, Ministry of Commerce, Trade associations, GIZ Local 
  Service providers, Academia etc
• Plan and execute one RBH Awareness Session in Lahore and one in Karachi, each with more than 170 participants mainly from the industry and business associations, generating discussions on EU CSDDD to foster the participants' understanding and collaboration.
