Cleantech start ups make available innovative products and services, thus contributing effectively to climate change mitigation. By supporting these small and medium-sized enterprises through tailored financing instruments and capacity building to enhance business skills their contribution towards climate change mitigation can be scaled.
adelphi supported the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) Climate-KIC and Provadis School to develop innovative and customised approaches to support cleantech start-ups in nine European countries. Against this backdrop adelphi conducted short studies to explore the framework conditions and entrepreneurial ecosystems in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia. Based on the findings adelphi compiled a catalogue of action fields, which served as the foundation for the development of support approaches and measures. adelphi developed a prototyping methodology facilitating this process.
