Overview on environment and security policies in Germany

adelphi compiled the "German Profile" for a web-based inventory and comparative analysis of governmental and international governmental organisation’s positions and actions related to environment and security. The aim of the inventory was to provide governments, IGOs, NGOs and researchers with useful tools to compare and assess
ongoing efforts, assist those wishing to develop new work in this field and stimulate further international cooperation.

The final product, Inventory of Environment and Security Policies and Practices (IESPP): An Overview of Strategies and Initiatives of Selected Governments, International Organisations and Inter-Governmental Organisations, was published by the Institute for Environmental Security. It shows that many countries are currently reforming their procedures to improve conflict prevention and crisis response. Yet, a need for more drastic and concerted change is a priority if security objectives are to come to fruition.
