With the EU Green Deal, the EU Climate Law and the Fit for 55 Package, the EU has taken action to transition to a decarbonised and resilient economy, reaching net zero emissions by 2050. Achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement and reducing climate change risks will depend on concerted action by the international community. Therefore, the EU climate diplomacy works actively on these goals with third countries.
adelphi is part of an ICF-lead consortium that informs climate diplomacy efforts in different regional and country contexts by providing policy-oriented inputs to the EU Delegations and Commission services that work with third countries to. This includes compiling knowledge products, such as presentations, factsheets and in-depth briefings, on European policies, international processes and regional specifics with regard to diverse climate topics. This is supported by online meetings where EU Delegations are briefed by renowned experts.
Among other aspects, adelphi provides EU diplomats with knowledge on adaptation, loss and damage, just transition, energy transition as well as the links of climate change with digitalisation and migration.
