Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV)
The Emissions Trading Working Group (AGE) is an initiative of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) with the participation of private companies, federal states, environmental groups and trade unions. Since December 2000, the Working Group has been providing advice to the German government on questions arising in the application of emission trading as part of the instrument cluster for climate policy.
Representatives from all relevant societal groups took part in the Working Group. Sub-groups address cross-cutting aspects, such as the linkage to other climate protection instruments, the implementation of the emissions trading system, legal questions and the use of project-based mechanisms (JI/CDM) in the context of emissions trading. The Working Group publishes the results of its consultations annually on the website of the Federal Ministry for the Environment.
