Representatives of states, international and regional organisations and civil society groups convene annually in Nairobi for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) board meeting. The 2009 meeting developed into an important forum for global environmental policy. As part of the 25th Meeting of the "Governing Council" of UNEP, the extended exhibition "Environment, Conflict and Cooperation" was presented for the first time in Nairobi. On behalf of the "Post-Conflict and Disaster" programme of UNEP in Geneva, the exhibition will eventually be expanded to include the areas of peacebuilding in post-conflict societies and disaster preparedness. Both areas are central tasks of UNEP, and since 2008, one of its six themes. The entire exhibition, such as the new module on the subject in post-conflict peacebuilding societies and disaster preparedness, will be shown by UNEP at various locations around the world.
