Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU)
Emerging economies such as India, China, South Africa, and Brazil are increasingly playing a major role in the global governance system. Therefore, the continuous development of strategic partnerships with these countries is an important goal for the Federal Government of Germany to achieve, especially in the areas of climate protection, energy and the environment.
adelphi supported the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) in its effort to concretely structure and deepen bilateral environmental partnerships with major developing economies. The project identified possible thematic fields, pathways and partners for long-term strategic cooperation. In order to ensure local ownership and that the relevant issues are addressed, think tanks in the partner countries were actively involved in the process. adelphi will also collaborate closely with its partner institutions to prepare a series of policy briefs on cooperating with emerging economies on climate, energy and the environment.
