Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH
From 7 to 13 February 2018, urban actors met at the 9th World Urban Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – the first global urban conference after Habitat III in 2016. The Forum provided a central platform for cities, national governments, non-governmental organizations, planners and architects as well as international organisations to discuss pressing urban issues and developments. It also presented an opportunity to track progress and advance the implementation of global agendas, such as the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development and the New Urban Agenda.
Germany is a key actor in international debates on sustainable urban development. The Federal Government, under the auspices of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aimed to contribute to the global debate on urban issues by showcasing German approaches to sustainable urban development implemented in the framework of international cooperation.
For the WUF9, adelphi oversaw the implementation of the German exhibition booth and all related organisational and technical tasks.
