What is the interaction between European citizens, their mobility choices, and European transport research? The Move Together project brings together nine partners from five countries to increase the awareness of citizens about the complexity of urban transport research and the ramifications of their own transport choices.
Over a period of two years, two groups of citizens were involved in assessing and evaluating over 140 European research projects. One group – with representatives from each of the 27 EU countries – discussed their findings with policy makers in Brussels. The other group of 25 Roman citizens brought the project findings home and evaluated their own local transport policies. adelphi spreads the Move Together message further.
Based on the citizen workshops and the European research projects they assessed, adelphi created a travelling exhibition that visited six cities until December 2009. In the spirit that ‘our freedom of moving together should not be limited’, a poster exhibition was created to mirror the travelling exhibition; it was translated in several languages and displayed in eleven European cities during the 2009 Mobility Week.
