The Regulatory Assistance Project
During the period of this project (September 2017 to October 2020), a number of important changes were made to European energy policy that will significantly shape the further development of the European energy system as a whole. This will also shape the energy systems of EU Member States and have a decisive influence on the achievement of the EU’s climate and energy objectives.
On behalf of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), the project aimed for a scientific analysis of the climate and environmental aspects of EU energy policy. Under the leadership of adelphi, the project partners developed proposals for new measures, strategies and policy instruments and integrated them into the ongoing negotiations at the European level.
"Saubere Energien für alle Europäer" (Clean Energy for All Europeans) was the focus of the project. Further topics included questions on the Energy Union, guidelines for state environmental and energy subsidies, energy scenarios by the European Commission, nuclear energy costs and expansion in the EU, electricity prices and costs, and energy infrastructure.
