Jesús Salcedo Villanueva

Jesús Salcedo Villanueva is Director for International Climate Adaptation at adelphi. He has more than 15 years of experience working with governments, cities and international organisations to develop practical responses to climate change and make cities more sustainable.

Before joining adelphi, Jesús spent a decade with the United Nations, leading programme development, strategic partnerships and international cooperation. Most recently, he coordinated the Twelfth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12) and supported strategic engagement with the COP30 Presidency. Earlier in his career, he worked with communities and local governments in southern Mexico on climate resilience, sustainable livelihoods and ecosystem conservation—an experience that continues to shape his approach to international development.

At adelphi, Jesús is strengthening the organisation’s international adaptation practice by developing new partnerships, expanding programmes and helping clients turn ambitious climate goals into practical programmes with lasting impact.
