The online portal erneuerbare-energien.de offers an comprehensive information about renewable energies. Under the supervision of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), adelphi has updated the information portal’s key sections regarding laws and regulations.
The BMWi’s online information portal www.erneuerbare-energien.de (German only) is there to answer German citizens’ questions about renewable energies in Germany. It includes sections on solar energy, wind energy, hydropower, bio energy and geothermal energy, offering people up-to-date information and combined background knowledge via, for example, commented lists of links or information about laws and regulations. In addition, the online portal offers an overview of the regulations within the Renewable Energy Act (EEG), describing changes in the EEG reform from 2014, as well as particular compensatory regulations for energy-intensive companies. Information on investment incentive, research funding and the Renewable Energies Heat Act (EeWärmeG) is also accessible.
The information portal has had a complete overhaul, featuring a new structure, additional content and all with a fresh, new design. Together with the Independent Institute for Environmental Issues (UfU), adelphi has completely reworked the portal’s existing "Legislation" section, in order to clarify and ease understanding of the information on offer. This section, which deals with current and newly proposed legislation in the context of the Renewable Energy Act (EEG) and the Renewable Energy Heat Act (EEWärmeG), has not only be restructured and redesigned, it has been extended to include important, accompanying ordinances, as well as introductory texts on legislation and studies.
Since the beginning of the current legislative term, the portal’s lead partner is no longer the Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) but the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), to which responsibility for the energy sector has been handed over.
