How does sustainable management prove in practice? What are opportunities for developing countries? In the framework of a larger training programme funded by renowned private German enterprises, adelphi facilitated an interactice session with practical orientation for next-generation entrepreneurs.
The programme AFRIKA KOMMT! (HERE COMES AFRICA!), funded by renowned private German enterprises, offers next-generation managers from sub-Saharan Africa the opportunity to gain practical experience in German companies and build up an international network within their sector. In this context, adelphi organised a further training session, 'sustainable economies – chances for Africa', using facilitation of know-how combined with interactive formats, through which participants could exchange and engage with the subject matter collaboratively.
This way, the participants became more familiar with adelphi's business model, of which the central leitmotif and business principle is sustainability. Taking the company's environmental statement and its climate neutral stance as examples, the participants gained insight into adelphi's efforts within the areas of climate protection and sustainability. Furthermore, adelphi gave an overview of the activities of the SEED Initiative and the G20 Challenge, projects that promote ecological and social entrepreneurship or inclusive business models in emerging and developing countries.
Interactive rounds of discussion on the topic of sustainable economies and the related opportunities for Africa were at the nucleus of the training session. The participants could hereby identify numerous links with situations in their own native countries and the industrial sectors in which they work. The participants can thereby implement the results in the form of work stimuli within the German host companies, as well as in terms of their own professional career once back on home ground.
