Along with the launch of the new website of the German Federal Environmental Agency at the end of September, the new websites of the Competence Centre on Climate Impacts and Adaptation (KomPass) went online, too. adelphi has actively supported KomPass with the construction of the pages.
The new website offers detailed information on climate impacts and adaptation options in all fields of the German Adaptation Strategy. Furthermore, the website provides a comprehensive description of the German and European adaptation policy. According to the suggestions made in the Adaptation Action Plan to establish a platform function within the KomPass website, the federal states are given the additional opportunity to provide regional information on climate impacts, vulnerability and adaptation. During the development of the websites, suggestions and requests of users of the KomPass website were taken into account. The users were able to participate in the development process through an online survey.
Certain online tools offered by KomPass were adopted, such as the “Climate Navigator” and the “Deeds Bank". adelphi currently expands and improves these tools in the course of two projects.
The new website of KomPass has been integrated into the website www.umweltbundesamt.de and can be found in the section on "Climate | Energy" under "Impacts of climate change" and "climate change adaptation". The old link www.anpassung.net also leads to the new website.
adelphi is currently working on different online platforms and other communication tools on climate change adaptation. Also the work on the KomPass website is not yet completed. adelphi will continue to support the Competence Centre Climate Impacts and Adaptation with the development of new contents.
