The concept is based on a complementary use from analytical instruments, which were until now only individually applied, not in combinations. The European Joint Research Centre (JRC) will lead the working group’s initial results in late April 2010, in Ispra, Italy, at which time adelphi will provide its expertise in environment and conflict. The primary goal of G-MOSAIC is to use geo-spatial data as a tool for early warning crisis indicators and crisis management. In additional to the indicators, instruments for analysing disaster situation will be developed. This has already been implemented in Haiti after the devastating earthquake hit on 12 January 2010.
