adelphi has been commissioned to manage SEED Awards for the sixth consecutive time. The competition, which is rewarding promising start-up ventures in social and environmental fields in their region, has been extended by two new categories: the Low Carbon Award and the Gender Equality Award.
This year’s regional focus is on African countries. Ventures from Ethiopia, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Uganda and South Africa are invited to apply for a total of 25 awards. Entrepreneurial initiatives from Colombia, India, Tanzania, Uganda and Viet Nam, whose innovative concepts contribute to climate adaptation and mitigation, can enter the competition for the first Low Carbon Award. Small-scale projects concentrating on gender justice are invited to apply for Gender Equality Awards. Awardees will benefit from a range of services, adjusted to individual needs to provide support for the crucial start-up and growth phases.
adelphi has been tasked by the founders of the SEED Awards, UNDP, UNEP and IUCN, to manage the marketing, application and shortlisting processes of the Award schemes. On top of that adelphi is also responsible for the management of the international jury processes.
