The digital transformation is a challenge to cities all over Europe, but it is also a chance for sustainable and integrated urban development. Join the #ConnectedInEurope kick-off conference on February 10th, 2022, to get in touch with experts and municipal, ministerial and EU officials.
How can European and German cities and communities successfully manage the digital transformation and connect it to sustainable and integrated urban development? What are the opportunities and challenges of digitalisation from the perspective of urban development? And what are networking options and funding programmes?
The project #ConnectedInEurope, funded by the German Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development and implemented by adelphi, brings together municipalities, ministries and actors at the German and European levels, allowing them to network, learn from each other, share their perspectives, challenges, and needs, and enable them to turn the digital transformation into an opportunity for urban development.
On February 10th, 2022, the project kicks off with a virtual conference. Register here to join the conference and learn more about EU strategies for digitalisation and networking opportunities in cities and communities. The conference provides an overview of EU networking initiatives, EU funding programmes for digital transformation and current digital strategies on the EU level.
The main event features the panel discussion “Let’s talk: Status Quo and future ambitions”, where participants reflect on European and German smart city initiatives and networks to learn how they support municipalities in their challenges with digitalisation, the digital single market and urban development.
In the afternoon, the focus of the conference will be on exchange and knowledge transfer. In three parallel sessions you can discuss what your challenges are and where you need support:
Throughout the day, you will have the chance to get in touch with other municipalities, ministries and actors at European level, share your experience on smart city projects, tell us your needs to step forward and expand your network.
The event is organised by the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community and the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development.
