Energy-saving devices are increasingly in demand. Technological progress and innovative ideas are enabling a continuous improvement in energy efficiency. The National Top Runner Initiative (NTRI) dialogue series is a platform for an exchange of ideas with the industry.
Manufacturers are faced with the challenge of making their products and services simultaneously sustainable and economical in the face of high costumer use. Energy efficiency potentials can be exploited if these offers can be even better adapted to the habits of consumers. The Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy’s National Top Runner Initiative (NTRI) offers manufacturers the opportunity to enter into direct contact with consumers, other manufacturers and retailers through dialogue events. The exchange can lead to the development of technical efficiency potentials and holistic solutions and thus make energy efficiency a growth engine for businesses.
Businesses and consumers united for greater energy efficiency
Within the scope of the NTRI innovation dialogue, innovative ideas are being developed over the course of four event series. Manufacturers, product developers, consumers, traders, students and trainees, start-ups and technology scouts, are developing innovative approaches for new product developments in the applied areas: lighting, information and communication technologies, household appliances, heating, air conditioning and water.
Innovation workshops are being held to define both the problems and challenges consumers are facing, as well as the first ideas for solutions. Challenges and ideas will be developed into solutions and concepts in a next step, as product development oriented to actual needs and use is the key to more energy efficiency.
Consumers, manufacturers, retailers, others in creative professions, and interested people are invited to jointly explore the innovative potential of energy-efficient electrical appliances and new technologies. No technical knowledge is required for participation!
