The two day pilot training that took place in New Delhi was attended by some 20 business representatives from all economic sectors of India.
The training course was conceived and organized by Adelphi and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) according to the EN16001: 2009 standard and aims to establish necessary systems and processes to improve energy efficiency in Indian organizations. The goal of the training was to provide step by step guidance to establish, implement, maintain and improve an energy management system for existing organizations. It thus incorporated examples of good practices and case studies of companies who successfully achieved energy savings through implementation of such management systems. Additionally, participants learned about concrete instruments and methods, which were discussed and applied based on examples and exercises. Following the success of this pilot session, further upcoming training will take place in other parts of India in the coming months. The training course is targeted at any organization aiming to reduce energy consumption and costs.
