High level policy makers, business and civil society experts discussed key issues of the energy transition on 19-20 October in Sacramento.
The 2017 California-Germany Bilateral Energy Conference (CGBEC) was a joint event of the California Energy Commission (CEC) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). It brought high level industry experts, think tanks, and policy makers from Germany and California together to discuss recent developments, deepen the understanding of long term trends and exchange experiences with policies designed to tackle them. Furthermore, the conference fostered dialogue, strengthened networks, and increased the motivation and inspiration of key stakeholders who have a leading role in the energy transition of their respective countries and regions.
adelphi with its partners GACC West and RAP conceived and organized the CGBEC in close collaboration with the BMWi, CEC and the California Independent System Operation (CAISO). This event was funded by the BMWi within a project supporting its energy dialogue with the USA and other countries.
The CGBEC took place back to back with the CAISO Stakeholder Symposium, the largest gathering of energy industry professionals in the West of the United States.
