Federal Environment Minister Peter Altmaier himself awarded the 100th participant in the DEHOGA environmental check. The DEHOGA environmental check was developed by adelphi and viabono and provides hoteliers and restaurateurs with the possibility to demonstrate their environmental commitment towards their guests effectively.
Federal Environment Minister Peter Altmaier and the president of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA), Ernst Fischer, handed over the award to the 100th participant in the DEHOGA environmental check, the Flair Parkhotel Weiskirchen in Saarland. The hotel managed to reach the stage “gold”. The host Peregrin Maier of the Flair Parkhotel Weiskirchen was honoured to receive the award: “It feels good to see that our years of commitment and our employees’ great efforts to protect the environment are recognised at the highest level.”
Federal Environment Minister Peter Altmaier held that the great interest in the award shows that the issue of sustainability is taken into account by the industry. “The environmental check picks up our goals in an exemplary fashion. This applies to the energy transition, our key project for the purpose of environmental protection and preserving prosperity. This is, however, also true for the resource efficiency programme that entails incentives for the industry to be independent from the consumption of expensive resources, while minimising the environmental impact at the same time.”
