adelphi presented and discussed the results of the climate change, adaptation, and crisis prevention nexus with experts in Berlin. The aim of the two year research project is to develop roadmaps for the focal regions Central Asia, South Asia and the Andes, as well as a memorandum on “Adaptation for Peace and Stability”.
adelphi has been researching on conflict sensitive adaptation to climate change on behalf of the Federal Environment Agency for two years. The results were now presented and discussed with an expert panel from ministries, NGOs and the academia. Titled “Adaptation to Climate Change for Peace and Stability”, participants helped identifying starting points as well as potentials for adaptation roadmaps. The workshop also aimed at creating a forum to discuss how conflict sensitive adaptation strategies could be incorporated in bi-national and multinational cooperation processes.
adelphi also compiled a memorandum to support stakeholders in applying adaptation processes which contribute to peace and stability.
