"Energy saving made easy"

That is the slogan of the new German Hotel and Catering Association (DEHOGA) booklet, which was developed by adelphi in line with the Hotel and Catering Energy Campaign. It provides valuable tips on how hotels and restaurants can lower their energy consumption with simple but effective methods.

Lowering energy costs and assuring competitive advantages - that is what the new DEHOGA booklet is all about. The manageable guideline compares average energy information for several types of business, informs about simple organisational steps, and gives an overview of technical possibilities for hotels and restaurants to save energy and costs while doing something good for the environment.

The 40-page publication includes descriptive graphics and detailed instructions for the practical implementation of the methods in kitchens, bars, and restaurants. You can find tips and tricks on matters from the right lighting concept to an environmentally friendly heating system and energy efficiency laundry service, as well as numerous best practice examples and tips for subsidies.

The booklet is a valuable component of the Hotel and Catering Energy Campaign started by the Federal Ministry of Environment and DEHOGA in 2006. The information campaign supported by adelphi has already reached more than 5,000 participants, for which extensive services are available, including individual counselling, energy saving programmes, checklists, regular updated technical information, as well as a support and energy consultant data-base.
