Dr. Sebastian Muschter Appointed New CEO at adelphi

Dr. Sebastian Muschter, formerly a member of the management board at PD – Berater der öffentlichen Hand GmbH, has been appointed CEO of adelphi.

Dr. Muschter brings to adelphi a wealth of experience as a seasoned leader and esteemed advisor to ministers, state secretaries, and senior officials. The doctoral graduate in Business Informatics and business economist was previously a key member of the management board at PD, which serves as an in-house consultancy for public administration at federal, state, and municipal levels. During his tenure as acting president of the Berlin State Office for Health and Social Affairs (LAGeSo), he successfully steered the agency through challenging times. Additionally, as Managing Partner, Berlin at McKinsey & Company, he played a significant role in strategy projects and the management of major public sector initiatives, eventually serving as head of the Berlin office and co-leader of the Public Sector practice in Germany.

Thanks to his extensive expertise, transformational experience, leadership skills, and personal motivation, Dr. Muschter brings the capabilities needed to lead adelphi successfully into the future and to work with the 330 adelphis to create a sustainable future for upcoming generations.

New Management Team

In addition to Dr. Sebastian Muschter, Mikael Henzler as co-founder will remain on adelphi's management board, together with the CFO Gerard Solbrig. Mikael Henzler, along with Lena Ruthner and Anton Barckhausen, who joined as executive directors in April 2024, will focus on further development of our thematic programmes for our clients and funding partners. This leadership group combines operational and strategic expertise with specialised knowledge. Together, they aim to advance transformative change for people and the environment and to further develop adelphi's private sector brand, phiyond by adelphi.

To better serve both existing and prospective clients, adelphi has entered into a strategic partnership with SEEK Development. This alliance reinforces the shared vision of both organisations for a more sustainable and equitable future while expanding their thematic and strategic expertise. Muschter will work closely with SEEK’s management to ensure the success of this partnership.
