Nature conservation instead of climate protection: the green roots of the right

adelphi is supporting the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) as it develops a one-week staff training programme on the green economy. The course, which will be entitled “Sustainable development in the context of the green economy/green growth” and held in the first half of January in Berlin, aims to give participants an overview of current approaches to policy-making and consulting in the context of the green economy/green growth.
The goal to establish a green economy creates new opportunities and challenges for the field of development cooperation. In order to support the practical implementation of the green economy concept, the GIZ division Economy and Employment at the Fach- und Methodenzentrum Planung und Entwicklung will hold a further training programme in the first half of January 2012 in Berlin. The event aims to give 40 to 60 of GIZ’s international and national employees and consultants an overview of current approaches to policy-making and consulting in the context of the green economy/green growth. It will demonstrate strategies to promote sustainable economic development in the fields of economic policy, private sector economic development, vocational training, the labour market and financial systems development. In addition to traditional training modules, the programme will also include excursions to institutions linked to the various issues in and around Berlin. adelphi is responsible for developing the training concept, identifying suitable public institutions, companies and NGOs for excursions and supporting GIZ from a methodological and didactic perspective as it prepares the event’s individual modules.
