The 5th Workshop on Climate Adaptation Research in Social Sciences will take place in Dresden on 30 November 2011. Entitled “Climate Adaptation Research for Policy and Praxis – Stakeholders, Instruments, Institutions”, the workshop will discuss the outlook for research in the field of adaptation.
Following workshops in Leipzig, Oldenburg, Bonn and Hamburg, the Leibniz Institute of Ecological, Urban and Regional Development (IOER) in Dresden will host the 5th Workshop on Climate Adaptation Research in Social Sciences in cooperation with REGKLAM on 30 November 2011. The conference will examine climate adaptation and the challenges involved in balancing local priorities with international goals. Discussions will focus on stakeholders, institutions and governance issues as well as provision of support and guidance for stakeholders.
Speakers will include Till Mohns from adelphi, who will present excerpts from a recent publication entitled “Adaptation to Climate Change – Agenda Setting and Policy Integration in Germany”, co-authored with Rebecca Stecker and Prof Klaus Eisenack from Oldenburg University (Chameleon Research Group).
