This year’s winners were announced on 17th November 2011 at a ceremony in the salt mine in Wieliczka (Krakow, Poland). adelphi was responsible for the design and implementation of the awards that honour the environmental performances of EMAS registered organizations in six categories each year since 2005.
The European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is a management tool for organizations aiming at improving their environmental and financial performance and making their achievements in environmental protection public. Since 2005 the environmental performance of EMAS-registered organizations has been distinguished in six categories.
This year 36 organizations from 15 European countries were nominated for the EMAS-Awards. The six winning organizations not only excelled in environmental performance and protection, but also in applying innovative solutions for the participation of employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders in improving their environmental performances.
adelphi organizationally supported the jury of environmental experts who ultimately selected the six winners, and led through the evening event of the EMAS Award ceremony with Walter Kahlenborn and Rainer Agster as moderators.
