The EMAS Awards 2012, given by the EU Commission’s Directorate-General for the Environment recognise organisations for their sustainable use of water ressources. adelphi has been assigned to organise the award ceremony for the second consecutive time which takes place in Brussels on 29 November.
The EMAS Awards are regarded as the most prestigious environmental management commendation in Europe. Since 2005 the Directorate-General for the Environment of the EU Commission has been recognising the environmental performance of EMAS-registered organisations in six categories, with a different focus area each year. This year’s award is revolving around water management, water efficiency, and water quality. This includes measures that help reducing the amount of water that is used in production processes, as well as improving the water quality. Adelphi will assist the EU Commission during the selection process, which includes the set-up of an international jury and choosing nominees that will be proposed by the EU Member States.
The award ceremony will take place in the Belgian capital of Brussles on 29 November. adelphi is responsible for the concept and organisation of the event.
