On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMU) adelphi continues to provide scientific and technical support for the ICAP Secretariat over the next two years.
The International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP), founded in 2007, is a unique multilateral forum in which officials can exchange their knowledge and experiences on the design and operation of emissions trading systems (ETS). By providing a forum for technical discussions on ETS design questions, by carrying out outreach activities especially for representatives from emerging economies and developing countries, and by establishing a knowledge sharing platform, ICAP aims to contribute to the establishment of a well-functioning global carbon market.
Since the beginning, adelphi has provided substantial support to ICAP. Due to the establishment of an ICAP secretariat, which is affiliated with the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), the partnership has been institutionally strengthened over the last couple of years. In this context, adelphi continues to provide the staff for the Secretariat, including the ICAP Project Manager, administrative support as well as financial management, and particularly comprehensive substantive assistance for the ICAP process.
