adelphi will continue its advice as a member of the Advisory Board for Civilian Crisis Prevention. The Berlin-based Think-tank will be represented by Dennis Tänzler, expert for climate change, security, and environmental topics.
The 19-member Advisory Board was established in 2005. It was set up to ensure that relevant non-governmental stakeholders are involved in the sphere of civilian crisis prevention. It is intended to provide the Steering Group for Civilian Crisis Prevention with specialist advice which coordinates the activities of the Federal Government in the field of crisis prevention. Members are drawn from the worlds of academia, security policy, development policy, human rights and humanitarian issues, the environment, the church, industry and political foundations, or they are policy advisors or figures with particular expertise in crisis prevention.
Dennis Taenzler has been serving as a member of the Advisory Board since 2009. As Head of Climate and Energy at adelphi, he has worked extensively on risk and vulnerability studies as well as conflict sensitive strategies in the field of climate protection. He is also the programme director on the environment, conflict and cooperation platform (www.ecc-platform.org).
